GALLE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL RECEIVES GIFT OF 30,000 FACE MASKS FROM CHINESE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
Responding to a request made by Galle Mayor Mr. Priyantha Sahabandu, the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China has donated 30,000 face masks to the Galle Municipal Council.
The boxes containing the face masks were officially handed over to the Mayor by a delegation from the China Friendship Board of Sri Lanka, comprising Ven. Omare Kassapa Anunayake Thero and the Chairman of the Board Mr. Dassanayake Bandara. Following the presentation which took place on 21st May 2020 at the Mayor’s Office, there was a media briefing at which the Deputy Mayor, several Municipal Councillors , the Municipal Commissioner and other officials also participated.
Action has been taken to distribute these face masks among members of the Council engaged in essential services including waste management and other services.
